Work Is All A Go

Have been busy at work since the beginning of the year. I have been taking part in a “Proof Of Concept” with a Palo Alto Firewall.
I have been trying to see if, the URL filtering, built into the PA, is any better & possibly cheaper than the Websense appliance already being used.
So far it has exceeded expectations. The only issue I am having is not being able to get any “User ID”. This is down to the way our Wireless Network, where we intend to use the firewall, is setup.
Today we may have come up with a solution.

iPad Bluetooth Case

On returning from my holiday the other week, I purchased an iPad case with Bluetooth Keyboard.
I have been using it for a couple of weeks and I must say I am very impressed.

The case does look a little large, but no larger than a small netbook.
It has changed the way I now use my iPad but it does mean I do use it more.

I have just downloaded ios5.01 to my iPad and iPhone.

Let’s see if the battery life is any better now.

Hi, I’ve just returned from a five day cruise, Malaga to the Canary Islands.

It was whilst in Lanzarote that we came across a small boat berthed behind our ship.

Yes it was the Queen Mary 2.

BT Infinity Installation Part 2

Monday 17th October 2011

10:15. Call from BT engineer to say work commencing at cabinet.

10:35 Engineer arrives and starts to fit equipment. (Modem & Home Hub 3)

10:40 Connected Home Hub to networks via Develo Powerline adaptor.

10:45 Asked to test connectivity to Home Hub via Ethernet. (Connected laptop and all working ok).

10:50 Connected laptop via wireless. (All working ok)

10:55 After tidy up BT engineer left.

11:00 Checked all network devices were connecting to the Internet as required.

11:15 Performed a speed test via speedtest.com Results showed 36Mb/s d/l and 7.5Mb/s d/l

This was the quickest install by BT I have have come across in a long time and the results were perfect.

Checking at various intervals since the install give approximately the same results.
I am very pleased that I changed over to BT Infinity.
